Valkyries House is conceived as the central home of the Foundation: sport, learning, wellbeing, hospitality, partnership and community under one roof.

women's sport facilities Warwickshire — Women’s sport facilities Warwickshire should support more than what happens on the pitch. Valkyries House is the proposed first major building and community hub for Warwickshire Valkyries Foundation, bringing sport together with performance, families, education, wellbeing, hospitality and community use.
A good facility begins before somebody enters the building. Arrival, transport, wayfinding, accessibility, reception, changing, safeguarding, privacy and the movement between different spaces all influence whether a venue feels welcoming and easy to use. The design process should consider those journeys from the outset.
The sporting element is intended to support training, preparation, recovery, analysis and development alongside everyday participation. Detailed technical requirements will need input from coaches, athletes, governing bodies, designers and operational specialists before they are fixed.
The wider concept recognises that participants and visitors may arrive with children, partners, parents or other family members. Comfortable social spaces, food and drink, suitable facilities and clear sightlines can help a sports venue work for more people and for longer periods of the day.
Flexible rooms can potentially support workshops, meetings, community organisations, education and wellbeing activity. The value comes from creating spaces that can be used throughout the week rather than building specialist rooms that remain empty for long periods.
Hospitality, events, meetings and other appropriate commercial uses can help diversify income. Those activities should support the Foundation’s purpose and be developed through a realistic operating model, rather than relying on optimistic assumptions about revenue.
Valkyries House remains a developing proposal. Site selection, planning, design, capital funding, operating costs, governance, environmental performance and community consultation all need to be addressed. The website will update the status as decisions become confirmed.
