Ambition needs governance behind it. Warwickshire Valkyries Foundation intends to develop clear leadership, accountability and decision-making as the organisation and project grow.
Leadership and responsibilities
Visitors, partners and stakeholders should be able to understand who is responsible for key areas of the Foundation. Published biographies and role descriptions can provide transparency without exposing unnecessary personal information.
Board and governance
The final governance structure should reflect the Foundation’s legal form, charitable or commercial relationships and regulatory responsibilities. Board responsibilities, conflicts of interest and delegated authority should be documented appropriately.
Safeguarding
Safeguarding needs named responsibility, approved policies, training and escalation routes. It should be integrated into programmes and recruitment rather than treated as a standalone document.
Financial oversight
A project of significant scale requires robust budgeting, controls, procurement, reporting and independent professional advice. Funding restrictions and partner obligations must be understood before commitments are made.
Risk and compliance
Planning, health and safety, data protection, accessibility, employment, events and facilities all create different responsibilities. The Foundation should maintain a proportionate risk framework as activity grows.
Transparency
Public policies, annual reporting, impact information and clear project-status language can help stakeholders assess the Foundation on evidence rather than aspiration alone.
